Responsible for data processing

The General Manager is responsible, on behalf of Umoe Industries AS, for the company's processing of personal data.

Storage of personal data

We store the following personal data about customers, partners and others who contact us:

  • Company name and organisation number
  • Phone number and email address
  • Purchase history
  • Communication history between the contact and us, such as email and letters

For recruitment, Umoe Industries only collects information that job seekers provide themselves. Applicants are encouraged to submit CV, diplomas, application letter, name, email, phone number, work experience and competence.

Purpose of the processing

We retain the information in order to fulfil our obligations under our agreement with you. We also use the information to provide you with information, offers and service in connection with your customer relationship or cooperation.

Legal basis

Information about name, address, telephone and email address is used to fulfil our agreement with you as a customer or partner. The basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

We also use the information to provide information, offers and service by email, telephone and SMS. The basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can decline to receive such information from us at any time.

Collection of personal data

The information we store is information you have sent to us or provided on our website in connection with your customer relationship or cooperation. Your personal information may also be linked to the company you represent.

Cookies and visitor statistics

This website uses one optional tool: Google Analytics 4, which we use to see how many people visit, which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. We use it to improve the website — nothing else. We run no advertising cookies, no advertising pixels and no cross-site tracking, we do not build profiles of individuals, and we do not use the data to make decisions about you.

Nothing is loaded and no cookie is set until you accept. When you arrive, the analytics tool is switched off (Google Consent Mode, with storage denied by default) and the banner asks for your choice:

  • If you accept — Google Analytics is loaded and sets its own cookies (_ga and _ga_<container>, valid up to 2 years) to tell repeat visits from new ones. Our analytics property is configured so that IP addresses are not stored, and so that Google Signals, advertising personalisation and data sharing for advertising purposes are switched off.
  • If you decline — no analytics script is requested at all, no analytics cookie is set and no data about your visit is sent to Google.
  • Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under the key ui-consent, so you are not asked on every page. That entry is technically necessary to honour your choice and is stored on your device only.

Legal basis: your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 3-15 of the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act. You may change or withdraw your choice at any time, with no consequence for your use of the website:

Analytics: no choice made yet

Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months, as configured in our analytics property, and is processed by Google Ireland Limited as our data processor, under Google's standard data processing terms. Transfers outside the EU/EEA are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can also opt out of Google Analytics in every website by installing Google's browser opt-out add-on.

Independently of this, our web host keeps ordinary technical server logs, as any web server does. These may include your IP address, the time of the request and which page was requested. The logs are used only for operation, troubleshooting and security, are not linked to other information about you, and are not used to identify individual visitors.

Suppliers who process data for us

A small number of suppliers process personal data on our behalf, under data processor agreements. They may only use the data to deliver the service to us:

  • Form handling — enquiries sent through the contact form on this website are transmitted by our form provider and delivered to us by email.
  • Whistleblowing channel — reports submitted through our whistleblower route are handled in Microsoft Forms.
  • Email and document storage — correspondence and applications are stored in our ordinary business systems.
  • Visitor statistics — Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, but only after you accept it in the cookie banner. See Cookies and visitor statistics.
  • Web fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers and your IP address is visible to Google in that request. No cookies are set.

Disclosure of information to third parties

We will not share, sell, transfer or otherwise disclose personal data to others unless we are legally obliged to do so.

Erasure of personal data

Information received in connection with your purchase is stored in our active customer register for 3.5 years.

Information we are obliged to preserve under the Bookkeeping Act is stored for up to 5 years, in accordance with the requirements of the Act.

Rights of the data subject

We process personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act and applicable regulations. You may request access to and portability of your own personal data, as well as rectification or deletion of information. Where processing rests on your consent — such as visitor statistics or marketing information — you may withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.

You have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority if you believe your rights are infringed by the use of personal data described here:

DatatilsynetP.O. Box 458 Sentrum, 0105 Oslo, Norway

Data protection officer

We have appointed a data protection officer who ensures that the rules of the Personal Data Act on the processing of personal data are followed.

Information security

We have established rules and procedures for the protection of personal data and privacy. We use both technical and organisational security measures to protect stored personal data against unauthorised or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, alteration, disclosure or access.
